StockLite is a flexible data capture application suite, purpose-built by Psionet Pty Ltd for the Motorola MC1000 handheld terminal (HHT). The MC1000 is a tough, WindowsCE-based terminal which is ideally suited to portable data capture applications. It carries an IP54 rating and is drop tested to 1.5m onto concrete.

StockLite © comprises two main components - the HHT application and a PC server application which runs on a standard Windows desktop PC.

The server application fulfills the following roles:

  • Deploys the HHT application to the MC1000
  • Uploads and downloads captured data and lookup data between PC and the HHTs
  • Downloads application updates as required to the HHTs
  • Allows for the customization of the data to be captured (fields and field sizes) on the HHT
  • Exports data into a CSV (Comma Separated) file, making it easy to import into any reporting system

The HHT application caters for capture of any combination of the following fields: Location, SKU, quantity and price. Although it was originally designed as a stocktaking application, it can be put to many more uses due to it’s ability to customize the constituent data (and field lengths) from the PC server side.
